Open Mics

Open Mic

Performing original music at an Open Mic is a valuable tool for performing songwriters to improve their songs and to expand their expertise.

A song tested in front of an audience will get a different reaction than one submitted to a cold technical critique. A song performed for a live crowd must, in some way, connect with its listeners on a more emotional and visceral level. What works on paper often does not work in live performance -- and vice versa. It’s a true learning experience.

We urge you to submit any and all Open Mics that are not listed here, as we’d like to make this as comprehensive as possible. Be sure to include as much information as possible, specifically, the who, what, where, when, and how of any Open Mic opportunities. Also, if you should see a listing that has shut down, let us know. Please send open mic info to:
suggestions@svsasongs.com.
